Electric Motorcycles

e-Wewa

Barabara is piloting 500 electric motorcycles with swappable batteries in Kinshasa. These motorcycles are quiet, produce zero tailpipe emissions, and cost significantly less to operate per kilometre than fuel motorcycles. For passengers, they offer a smoother, quieter ride. Electric motorcycles will be rolled out to other cities in 2027 and 2028.

Tukutuku (Three-Wheeler)

Tukutuku (Three-Wheeler)

3-Wheeler

The Tukutuku is a three-wheeled vehicle commonly used across Central and East African cities for transporting passengers and small goods. It is slower than a motorcycle but offers greater stability and can carry more weight. On Barabara, a Tukutuku accommodates two passengers in the rear cabin, plus the driver. It’s an excellent option for short trips to the market or for passengers who prefer the added stability of a three-wheeled vehicle.
