Green Commitment

BaraBara believes that mobility can drive Africa forward without destroying the environment. We are committed to a gradual, practical transition to electric mobility.

Year 1

Today

We are reducing waste and congestion through efficient matching. Every time we replace an idle, circling motorcycle with a matched trip, we save fuel and reduce emissions. Our data sharing helps cities plan better roads, which reduces long-term vehicle emissions.

Years 2-3

Tomorrow

We are piloting 500 electric motorcycles (e-Wewas) with swappable batteries in Kinshasa. These motorcycles produce zero tailpipe emissions and are significantly cheaper to operate per kilometre than petrol motorcycles. We are partnering with battery-swap station operators to make recharging fast and convenient.

Goal

2030 Goal

We aim for 20% of our entire fleet to be electric. That means tens of thousands of electric motorcycles and thousands of electric cars across all our operating countries. This will drastically reduce CO₂ emissions and reduce fuel costs for drivers, putting more money in their pockets while cleaning the air.
